The only time I have ever seen it before was in the lost river which made no sense for a blood kelp zone. I just found the blood kelp on the surface growing on some floating islands. The glowing balls are in the way, the entrance near the wreck.Ģ. People say you can get the cyclops in there but I could not. The grand reef under the floating island. You'll find blood kelp growing on underwater islands in an area between them.ġ. If you can find the Underwater Islands (another self-evident name they're near the Mountain Island - north-west I think) one of the two Blood Kelp zones (I think also the same one with the Lost River entrance) is directly connected to it, so much so that they're one of the few biomes with significant overlap. It's so named because it's filled with blood kelp, which A) is scannable, and B) it's immediately obvious why it's called blood kelp for one thing, the resource retrievable from its base is called Blood Oil. While I admit the Grand Reef is a relatively confusing name, the blood kelp zone is absolutely not.
